Dementia Friendly Week: GSA KAER Toolkit Presentation In-Person

Dementia Friendly Week: GSA KAER Toolkit Presentation

Join Jen Pettis, MS, RN, from The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) as she introduces you to four steps to achieve greater awareness of cognition and brain health, increase detection and earlier evaluation of cognitive impairment, and make referrals for community supports. The four steps—Kickstart, Assess, Evaluate, and Refer (KAER)—are intended to improve health‐related outcomes and well‐being for people living with dementia and their families. She’ll introduce you to the GSA KAER Toolkit for Primary Care Teams and share how you can engage in discussions about brain health with your care provider. Jen will highlight key messages about brain aging, share resources that promote brain health, and provide important insights into when signs and symptoms indicate that an evaluation by a medical provider may be indicated. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Join Jen for this engaging and interactive session!
