Girls Coding for a Cause: Building Websites for Social Impact In-Person

This four week program is designed to empower students to research and raise awareness about a cause they are passionate about, while also developing their HTML and CSS coding skills! Over the course of the program, students will select a cause, conduct research to learn more about the issue, and then use HTML and CSS to create a website that highlights key information, resources, and calls to action related to their cause.

Through this hands-on project, students will deepen their understanding of a particular social issue and gain valuable experience in web development basics and design to address issues of equity and social justice. By the end of the program, students will have a functional website that can be shared with friends, family, and teachers to promote awareness and inspire action on their chosen cause.

This program is best for kids ages 8-12. Previous coding experience is not required, but a familiarity with computers is helpful!
