Andrew Geronimo and Sara Coulter will discuss the state of the law surrounding selection and removal of books in public libraries, public school libraries, and in public school curricula. By looking at existing Supreme Court case law and current ongoing litigation surrounding "book bans," the panel will help us understand who gets to decide what to select (and remove) and what recourse (if any) librarians, library patrons, and authors have to challenge such removals.
