Religion Lecture: Hinduism in America In-Person

This lecture surveys the developmental history of Hinduism by exploring how it influenced American culture and how it is in turn shaped by it. Beginning with the nineteenth century intellectual interest and the counterculture engagement of the twentieth century, we explore its influence on American intellectual and popular culture. Furthermore, we discuss the tradition’s transmission and adaptation within Hindu American diaspora communities.
