The Jet: the Life and Career of Outfielder Sam Jethroe In-Person

The oldest player to win MLB’s rookie of the year, Sam Jethroe, had a lengthy career in the Negro Leagues before joining the Boston Braves. Jethroe roamed the outfield for the Cleveland Buckeyes throughout the 1940s, when he was an all-star and a member of the 1945 championship squad. This talk will look at his Negro League and MLB career.
