Could AI be the biggest thing to happen in 531 years? In-Person
AI news is everywhere. So is misinformation, hype, and outright fantasy. The fact that a great deal of the investment capital of the United States is now riding on the "AI Boom" only makes the noise around this new and radically disruptive technology more fraught. This talk puts AI into historical context by comparing it to other major technological breakthroughs, such as the smartphone, the world wide web, and the telegraph. It also compares the potential impacts of AI with world-historical events such as the Industrial and American Revolutions—and even something larger. Presented by Jason Opal, Dean of The Ohio State University at Mansfield.
