Cleveland Shakespeare Festival In-Person
Now in its 25th season of producing FREE outdoor productions, Cleveland Shakespeare Festival is proud to return to Coventry PEACE Park with its productions of William Shakespeare's HAMLET on Friday, June 24 and Molière’s THE LEARNED LADIES on Friday, July 22.
HAMLET: Considered the greatest theatrical work of Western civilization, this eternally classic play follows the young prince Hamlet as he seeks to avenge his father's death at the hands of his plotting uncle (who now sits on the throne). Directed Dusten A. Welch
THE LEARNED LADIES: As Shakespeare was to England, Molière was to France (though admittedly, Molière spent far more time in prison for his art). The Learned Ladies, a short, satirical romp translated by Timothy Mooney, sees young Henriette absolutely in love with Clitandre. Her mother thinks otherwise, and wants to see her daughter marry a foppish wit that panders to her own intellectual pretensions. Will Henriette end up with her true love, or be forced to wed at the whim of her family? Directed by Keira McDonald
Admission is FREE for both shows! Lawn chairs or a picnic blanket are encouraged. And arriving early to secure your seat is highly recommended!
