Horseshoe Lake History Lecture In-Person
Horseshoe Lake, one of the two Shaker Lakes, has long been considered the gem of the Doan Brook parkland. Learn about its incredible history, as it transforms from an early Native American and settler site, to the multi-use lake of the North Union Shaker settlement, to a deed-protected showpiece of the Cleveland Park System. Reserved as a free lake for all people to visit, it also serves as a vital lake-habitat for migratory birds and wildlife. Horseshoe Lake is once again in the crosshairs for elimination
